The purpose you propose, as a secondary machine for "if i have to " moments is what I would probably use it for. My wife may ant one now that she isnt doing the really graphics intensive apps so really only time will tell.

And about your space problems, can you pick up an external drive? They are pretty cheap and add a margin of data safety.

You havent upgraded to Leopard?!?! Dude, you're missing out. I feel weird using Tiger now.

I don't think we really hit the Air's target audience, so I can't really argue the fact that it's processor is 25% slower than the current MacBook. But for what it is, it's pretty damn bad ass. If I was packing a Mac Pro in the office and wanted a 2nd machine for IF I HAD TO sort of things, and doing my daily news reading and internet surfing, email and all that, it would be a pretty rockin toy to have. I can't really even use a MacBook, no dedicated GPU sucks for me, but I have one I lug around to class and don't use for anything hefty. Apple laptops didn't have a 250gb option over a year ago, so HD space to me has always sucked, my MacBook Pro I maxed out at 100GB and 2GB of RAM in 2006, something I still grip with once a month when I have to free up space. But for a secondary machine, 80 + GB isnt going to be bad at all. Now to have to keep backing up and moving stuff around, no firewire on my main machine is never going to happen. So the AIR def isnt going to be anything I'll be working on solely.

I dig it though, def sexy as hell, if I had the spare cash and needed something to tote around and a secondary, it would make the wish list.

As for Time Capsule, it's def on my wishlist! I need a new router and I always have wanted a wireless backup system for my main machine Hell, I'm even debating the new Apple TV now, but that can wait till the summer when I actually find time to watch movies.

Im with you though, the MacBook Pro totally kicks ass, and yours even kicks my MBP's ass, and I still am satisfied.
