I have just upgraded to the latest version of WordPress version 2.1 Ella. I must say, that was about as painless as anything could be. The entire process took me less than 10 minutes, and most of that time was spent just reading about all of this versions addons and fixes.
Since I run my own server (god bless root access) I didn’t have to FTP files over and taking a backup was basically copy-paste. All told, I spent about 3 minutes upgrading.
If you run WordPress 2.0.x, upgrade now. If you use another blog/cms, go get WordPress.
